Executive Director Job Description

 

The Executive Director/CEO shall be the spiritual leader and overseer of the work of the Carthage Crisis Center whose duties are to:

 

  1. Develop the Vision of the Mission.

The Executive Director/CEO of the Mission will lead the Board in setting the Vision of the Mission.  The candidate needs to be able to both envision where the Mission should be going in programs and services and listen to the Board and staff to lead in them in the direction they envision as well.

  1. Promote the Vision of the Mission.

The Executive Director/CEO will provide for communication about the programs and services to the staff, Board, donors and community.  He will promote the Mission to the Christian community and general public.  The candidate will promote the Biblical themes of the Mission through print, broadcast and electronic media. The candidate will interface with leaders in the church, the Christian and business communities, and government.

  1. Administer the current programs of the Mission.

The Executive Director/CEO will administer the current programs and services of the Center. The candidate will also evaluate current programs and services to determine effectiveness and viability.

  1. Develop further services and programs.

The Executive Director/CEO will lead the Mission in growth through the development of further services and programs that meet the needs of the poor and homeless in our community and are consistent with vison of our Mission

 

  1. Develop and implement the funding plan to carry out the Vision of the Mission.

The Executive Director/CEO has the responsibility to develop the funding plan that will allow the Ministry to grow in services, while remaining financially solvent and responsible to the donors and community.

 

The Executive Director/CEO shall work under the general oversight of the Board of Directors.

  1. The candidate shall be employed by the Board as the senior staff person of the Crisis Center to administer all of its programs, ensure fiscal accountability, financial provision and overall promotion of the Mission.
  2. The term of office shall be at the pleasure of the Board of Directors.
  3. An Annual review of the Executive Director/CEO's work shall be made by the Board of Directors
  4. In the event there is a desire to terminate the appointment by either the Executive Director/CEO or the Board at any time, a 90 day notice shall be given.
  5. The Executive Director/CEO shall attend all Board Committees or Task Forces.
  6. Compensation shall be set annually by the Board of Directors.

The Carthage Crisis Center serves men, women and children in Southwest Missouri who are experiencing homelessness. We provide transitional housing to individuals and families in need. With almost 30 years experienced, we offer an environment where people can grow and change for the better. As a Chirst-centered ministry, we also provide daily opportunities to hear and respond to Gods Word. Everyone that comes to the Crisis Center desires stable income, affordable housing and reliable transportation. These are worthy goals that we help our residents achieve, but we are most interested each resident addressing the spiritual issues that they have. We believe that a right relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit is the primary goal and the other goals can be met as a result.
